About Us
ITC Great Plains seeks to build a more robust electric transmission system so that every Kansas and Oklahoma electric customer will have access to reliable, non-discriminatory, competitive, and low-cost energy. We are committed to fulfilling this vision because ITC Great Plains strongly believes that a more robust transmission system will:
- Provide equal access to all generation resources including renewable energy
- Remove the market participant bias from both the planning and operation of the transmission system
- Remove the disparity of electricity rates within Kansas
In order to accomplish this vision, ITC Great Plains has set forth the following goals:
- Construct SPP-authorized Projects
- ITC Great Plains will rely upon Southwest Power Pool (SPP) to perform the regional planning function
- ITC Great Plains will construct projects that SPP authorizes as either economic/requested upgrades or base plan funded projects
- Acquire Transmission Assets
- Strategically analyze the potential for acquiring transmission assets through innovative mechanisms
- Be the Independent Transmission Company for Kansas and Oklahoma
