KETA Project
Thank you, Kansas landowners, for welcoming ITC Great Plains to your communities.

On November 30 and December 1, more than 450 landowners, family members and friends generously gave up their evenings to join ITC Great Plains at our Community Open House events in Plainville and Smith Center. Landowners met with ITC Great Plains leaders and project team members to learn about Phase II of the Spearville-Knoll-Axtell high-voltage electric transmission line (also known as the KETA Project). They examined detailed maps of the three proposed line routes and shared their views about the project and the proposed routes.

ITC Great Plains will review the community input, develop a final proposed route for the line and file a siting application with the Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC) by March 2010. ITC anticipates the KCC will conduct a public hearing on the siting application approximately 60 days after the application is filed, followed by an order approving a specific route sometime in July 2010. ITC then would begin negotiations with landowners to purchase right-of-way easements. Phase II construction is projected to begin by late 2011.

Thank you for you interest in this important project for Kansas.
